Generosity is the attitude of one person who acts selflessly towards another. It is a value intimately related to goodness since whoever exercises it does not expect anything in return.

Generosity is apprehended, that is, it is culturally incorporated over time. Children do not have it developed while their brain is in training. Around the age of nine, cognitive development is in a position to learn and exercise generosity.

Ways to act generously

Generosity may or may not be tangible. For example: an action towards another person is an act of intangible generosity, while a gift is an act of tangible generosity.

Generosity is not giving what is worthless or useless. Generosity is giving what is valuable or in good condition but lovingly intended for other people to use.
