Verbs are those words that indicate states, processes, existences or actions. Within the sentence, they constitute the nucleus of the predicate, and are modified according to the number, voice, time, mode and person.

State verbs are those that express emotions, opinions, situations, and not actions. For example: We are satisfied with the consequences of the news.

They do not signal an action (such as talk or sing) nor an event of nature (as happens with thunder or to rain), but rather the condition of the subject. For example: The report is very useful.

State verbs have the role of uniting, within a proposition, the subject with the predicate and, by themselves, they do not have a total meaning.
