The prefixmacro-, of Greek origin, is a prefix that indicates that something is large, wide or long. For example: macromolecule, macrstructure.
Its synonym is the mega- prefix, although this other prefix is often used to indicate things of extraordinary size.
Its opposite is the prefix micro-, which is used to indicate that something is very small.
When is the macro- prefix used?
