The arthropod animals They are animals that do not have a skeleton but their body is made up of an exoskeleton that is called the cuticle.

Different species of arthropods they are insects, arachnids, and many crustaceans. However, there are more than a million species of arthropod animals. Arthropod animals are animals that have a type of tracheal respiration.

There are many varieties of arthropods but features common to all arthropod animals can be highlighted:

• The exoskeleton which is made up of different layers. The most superficial is called epicuticle and it is very thin; the next is called procuticle and it is the thickest layer of it. In turn, the latter can be subdivided into exocuticle Y endocuticle Y;
• The articulated appendix.

Arthropod groups

In turn, these invertebrates can be subdivided:

• Arachnids. They are the ones with four pairs of legs
• Insects. They have three pairs of legs.
• Crustaceans. That have five pairs of legs
• Myriapods They have several pairs of legs, even hundreds.
