The verbal aspect indicates the internal time of an action. Beyond that if the verb is in the past, present or future, the aspect allows to elucidate if the action has finished or not.

There are two aspects:

• Perfective. Indicates that the action ended. The simple past perfect, the imperfect and all compound forms are perfectives. For example: he came, he came.
• Imperfective. Indicates the action without its end. This does not mean that the action is taking place, but rather that it is not expressed if it is taking place, has taken place or will take place. All simple forms, except the simple past perfect or the indefinite past are imperfective. For example: It's coming out, they're going out, they're coming out.
