The interjections They are words that have neither lexical nor grammatical organization (they are considered pregrammatical signs) and are invariable. For example: Hey? / Oh my!
Syntactically, they function as independent sentences with their own meaning.In written language, they are often marked by exclamation marks or question marks.

Types of interjections
According to its structure:
- Own interjections. They are individual words that can only be used as interjections. For example: Ah! / Hey! / Hey?
- Improper interjections.They are adverbs, verbs, adjectives or nouns that are used as interjections. For example: Watch out! (noun) / No! (adverb) / Bravo! (adjective)/ Giddy Up! (verb)
- Interjective phrases. They are expressions composed of two or more words that are used as interjections. For example:Oh my! / Holy God!
According to your intention:
- Expressive. They express a feeling, opinion or sensation of the issuer. For example: Wow! (amazement and approval) / Great! (approval) / Oh! (astonishment) / Oh! (pain or disappointment)
- Conative. They seek to attract the attention of the listener or modify their behavior. For example: Hi! (to start a conversation or get someone's attention) / High! (to modify a behavior) / Hey! (to get someone's attention)
