The prefixanti- means opposition or contradiction. For example: antihero (the opposite of a hero), antipathetic (the opposite of nice)
In some cases it is used with the same meaning as before- or inter- in reference to what is above or what's ahead. For example: antiface (in front of the face), beforeroom (before the room).
