Thesubject it is the element of the sentence that indicates who carries out the action, and always agrees in number and person with the verb. For example: "I I danced."; "Your you dance. ";"Home is blue."

In a sentence there are usually two complementary parts: Subject (who performs the action) + Predicate (the action, embodied in the verb).

For example:

• Home I was finished. "The house" is the Subject, and "was" is the verbal nucleus. Both agree in person and in number: third person singular (she).
• HousesThey were finished."The houses" is the Subject, and "were" is the verbal nucleus. Both agree in person and in number: third person plural (they).

The core of the Subject is usually a noun and can be a person, an animal, an object, concept or any type of entity. This nucleus, in turn, can have direct and indirect modifiers, which can be adjectives, articles, and links. For example: The big houses were finished. / Maria's house was finished. / My house and the one next to it were finished.

Subject Types

According to their presence in prayer:

• Express Subject. It is explicit in the sentence, represented with a kernel and modifiers (which may or may not be). For example: Juana bought eggs.
• Tacit subject. It is present in the sentence, but implicitly, that is, it is not represented with a word but is implied by the context. For example: We went on vacation. (Tacit Subject: Us)

According to the number of cores:

• Simple subject. It has a single core, which may or may not have modifiers. For example: The dog is sleeping. / You studied little.
• Composite Subject. It has two cores, of equal rank, and may or may not have modifiers. For example: Clara and Pedro arrived early. / You and I know the truth.

According to the type of voice:

• Subject Agent. The prayer is in active voice. For example: The inspector denounced the murderer.
• Patient Subject. The sentence is in the passive voice and the Subject is the one who receives the effect of the action. For example: The murderer was denounced by the inspector.

Modifiers present in the Subject

It is very likely that in addition to a nominal element (own name, common noun) other words appear in that part of the sentence that can specify or complement the information:

• Direct Modifier. Articles, pronouns oradjectivesthat characterize or describe the nominal nucleus. For example: The hands cold they played the piano. ("las" and "cold" are MD)
• Indirect Modifier. Adjective constructions preceded by a preposition. For example: The neighbor of my mother she live alone. ("from my mother" is MI)
• Apposition. Clarification that can be exchanged for the same kernel, generally written between commas. For example: Maria, my sister, is tired today. ("my sister" is apposition)
