The participle It is a type of verb, which refers to an action that happened in the past but which, due to its proximity to the present, still has influences on it. For example: They have made great strides. / The work is done.that is, a non-personal form of the verb.
It is one of the "verboids" (also called non-personal forms of the verb because they do not conjugate), along with the gerund and the infinitive.
The participles can have three functions:
- They can function as qualifying adjectives, following the grammar rules of gender and number. For example: tidy, tidy, tidy, tidy (from the verb "to order), armed, armed, armed, armed (from the verb "to arm").
- They can form compound tenses together with the verb haber. For example: I had walked, I have known.
- They can be part of the passive voice together with the verb "to be". For example: were convicted, he is transferred.
Types of participle
There are two ways to classify the participle.

- Regular participle. The verbs of the first conjugation are formed with the suffix -adored (for example: found, explained), and the verbs of the second and third conjugation are formed with the suffix -gone (for example: understood party)

(!) There are verbs that have two participles. For example: print (printed, printed), attend (attentive, attended), wake (awake, awake)
According to your time reference:
- Past participle. It works as an adjective or is part of compound verbs and the passive voice. Some endings are -to (discovered) -so (printed), -ado (invited), -cho (done), -gone (Eaten).
- Present participle. It works as a noun. Some endings are -ante (walker), -ente (President), -ura (fissure).
