The word Whose it means "whose" in English. Its most common use is in formulating questions, to find out who is the owner of an object. In this case, whose works as an interrogative pronoun.

However, it is also used in affirmative sentences, and in that case its translation is "whose". That is, whose is also a possessive pronoun.

Informational questions or "wh" questions

In English there are a number of adverbs that start with the letters wh: que, which, where, quien, whom, when Y whose. All these adverbs, when used to formulate questions, form Open questions, that is, they cannot be answered with only "yes" or "no". Since when formulated the answer offers more information than a simple negative or positive, they are called informative questions.

• quien: is a pronoun with a subject function. It is translated as "who".
• Whom: is a pronoun with object function. It translates as "to whom"
• Whose: is a possessive pronoun. It is translated as "whose" or "whose".
