A Valley it is a portion of the landscape. That is, it is a plain, which is located between mountains (to one side) and a depression (to the other side).

There are 2 types of valleys:

Narrow valleys. As its name implies, the valley is relatively narrow. It is generally crossed by a relatively deep river. There is a remarkable closeness between the river and the mountains that surround it. For this reason the valley is narrow and is not very attractive for urban planning purposes (since the valley is narrow). However, it can be a valley of great visual appeal. Also this type of narrow valleys can be observed more frequently in the middle or high parts of the mountain, since the same height prevents the formation of wide valleys.

Wide valleys. These types of valleys are more related to plains rivers whose geographical formation has been a considerable time ago (periods of the primary or secondary era) and where the same tectonic plates have not moved noticeably in thousands of years. In these cases the river bed is much wider than in the previous case. It is also frequent that in this type of valleys there are floods not only due to the plain that characterizes it but also due to the flow of the river that crosses it.
