Thedirect object (also called direct object) is the fragment of the sentence that receives the action of the verb directly and always in the first place. It will always be present in the predicate of the sentence.
For example: I sent the package this morning.
How to identify the Direct Object?
It can be replaced by pronouns such as la, lo, las and los:
- Call to my mom For his birthday. / The I called for his birthday.
- Suit the books for us to review. / The I brought for us to review.
- Pass the first and the second instance. / The pass.
- I accompanied my little brother to the garden. / The I accompanied the garden.

The direct object can be:
- A noun phrase. For example: Andrea wrapped the Christmas present. (The Christmas present = noun phrase)
- A pronoun. For example: We take it to the mechanic. (lo = pronoun)
- A subordinate clause. For example: My sister asked me to accompany her to the dentist. (to accompany her to the dentist = subordinate sentence)
- An infinitive verb. For example: The boys ask to play. (Infinitive verb)
How is it different from the Indirect Object?
The Indirect object It is the one on which the action falls, indirectly. It can be identified because it can be replaced by you, them, or I know.
For example:Marina lent the toys to Jorge. (toys is the Direct Object, and to Jorge is the Indirect Object) /Marine you lent the toys. (you replaces Indirect Object: Jorge) /Marine I knowthe presto. (the replaces the Direct Object and I know replaces Indirect Object)
