The chrono- prefix indicates "time" or "season of the year" and comes from the Greek god Kronos. For example: chronograma, chronometer.
Unlike other prefixes, chrono- can also be used as a suffix. For example: withoutchrono, áchrono.

Examples of words with the prefix chrono-
- Chronicle: Journalistic genre that narrates the events in temporal order.
- Chronophobia: Fear or phobia of the passage of time.
- Chronography: It is a type of literary figure that consists of the description of times.
- Chronograph / stopwatch: It is a watch that has great precision and allows to measure fractions of time or very small in order to be the most precise possible in relation to time.
- Schedule: Graphic explanation of facts or events over time.
- Chronolect: Language used during a certain age range. The most common are the children's chronolect and the youth chronolect.
- Chronology: Explanation of facts ordering as they were presented in time.
- Chronologist: Person who has knowledge about the facts and their order in time.
- Timing: A time measurement type where a stopwatch is used to measure time. It is used in sports or in situations where time must be sequenced during a certain event, for example a sports race.
- Chronometrophobia: Irrational fear of clocks.
- Chronobiology: It is the study of biological responses to temporal events.
- Chronopathology: It is the study of the diseases that a person suffers and that have been contracted during an unfavorable or inappropriate period of time.
